Tuition and Expenses

  • The student nurse anesthetist will pay tuition for Murray State University for each semester of enrollment. Please refer to the MSU website for more information on enrolling. Late registration payment of these fees can result in disenrollment from the University and thus the Program of Anesthesia.
  • The student nurse anesthetist will pay a Clinical Fee to Trover Health System at the beginning of each semester. The amount is $3200 per semester. The clinical fee is reviewed annually and may be adjusted at the beginning of the Fiscal Year. Students will be notified no later than 4 months before any adjustments will be made.
  • Costs for the required books of the program are estimated to be approximately $2000.00.
  • Student nurse anesthetists are required to provide their own room and board. During required offsite clinical rotations, boarding will be provided if necessary.
  • Professional Liability insurance for student nurse anesthetists enrolled in the Program will be provided through the Trover Health System.
  • The Self-Evaluation Examination is available from the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetist as an evaluation of the student's knowledge and to prepare the individual to take the National Certifying Examination. It is strongly recommended that all students take this examination during the summer or fall semester, second year of the program. This examination is offered by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists through out the year at the same testing centers that the NCE is offered. The current fee for this examination is $110.00, and is paid by the student.
  • Certification Examination fees are the responsibility of the student. This fee for the Certification Examination will be paid in the form of a cashiers check or money order during the last semester of the program.
  • Associate membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists is required. The student nurse anesthetist receives all publications of the AANA and is eligible for reduced registration fees at all AANA meetings. The fee for this membership is $100.00. A check made payable to the Program of Anesthesia is required on the 1st day of class. The membership is for the student's entire program duration.
  • The student nurse anesthetist is responsible for purchasing earpiece, stethoscope, laboratory coat, goggles and shoes to be worn in the operating room. All necessary equipment will cost approximately $300.00.
  • The student is required to pay a one time copy fee of $350.00 on the 1st day of class to offset copy costs.
  • Health insurance is the responsibility of the student nurse anesthetist. Health insurance is required of all student nurse anesthetists during enrollment in the Program. The student nurse anesthetist must submit evidence of health insurance and current immunizations prior to entry into the program. Failure to maintain Health Insurance coverage can result in suspension or dismissal.
  • The student nurse anesthetist must provide personal transportation to and from all affiliation sites and is responsible for all meals.
  • Refunds of tuition paid to Murray State University are managed in accordance with University policy. Please see the Murray State University Graduate Bulletin for reimbursement policies.
